About Clara Mendes

Clara Mendes was born in São Paulo, Brazil and at 11 years old moved to Salvador, Bahia; there she started breathing music. Still as a child she started singing jingles for TV and radio and soon participated in groups and big bands singing jazz and rock both in Salvador and also back in São Paulo.

In 2004 she moved to Sweden where she developed a career in songwriting, writing bossa nova and samba songs; taking advantage of her brazilian roots.

The request to write Brazilian music trigged a talent that she wasn’t aware of.

Being blessed with a sweet voice with a unmistakable texture, she sings her own songs and reinforces her identity recording some covers too.

Clara has worked with both Brazilian and Swedish artists and musicians like Pepe Cisneros, Guga Stroeter, Magnus Lindgren, Rasmus Faber and Sylvia Vrethammar.

Her authenticity and sense of humor mark a unique character that she spreads out effortlessly wherever she goes.

Today Clara is working on new songs, to be released next year. Besides her work, she dedicates her time to the animals and the farm.
